4 Things You Should Know About Your Car and the Heat

This Morning on Today’s KTHV The Auto Guy discussed areas of your car’s operation that are most affected by the heat. The radiator, the Air Conditioning, the battery, and even the fuel pump. Keep the pH level of your engine coolant at 7.5 or higher -this will protect the soft metals inside your engine and the coolant can carry the heat. Replace your Cabin Air Filter and have the system ducts cleaned- this will help the system run more efficiently keeping the compressor from working as hard. Make sure your battery cables are clean and corrosion free. Your car needs all the voltage it can get to start up on these hot days. And finally keep at least a 1/4 tank of gasoline in your tank- gasoline helps keep the electric fuel pump cool.
